Questions.

Isn't this manipulation?
Manipulation is the slot machine — running someone hot and cold on a whim until they're hooked and blaming themselves. This is the opposite. The method runs on you, not on them. You set your own pace and stop reacting to theirs. What it really does is make you very hard to manipulate.
Why the warnings?
Because the mechanics work regardless of what you intend to do with them. Everything in here is aimed at your own control — none of it requires lying to anyone, and none of it should be used to hurt someone. That's not a disclaimer. It's the condition of access.
Is there an app?
Yes. It isn’t in an app store. Once you’ve signed up, your file page shows a button that adds M.A.A.S.K. to your home screen, and from then on it opens like an app. It’s free to add. Inside TikTok or Instagram you may need to open the link in Safari or Chrome first, and the page will tell you how. On a computer it runs in your browser, nothing to download. The app is for phones. Sign up, open the site on your phone, and your file page shows a button that adds it to your home screen, so it opens like an app. It isn’t in an app store, and it’s free to add.
What does M.A.A.S.K. cost?
The Clearance Test and your file are free. So are your first few messages with M.A.A.S.K. After that it’s R455 a month, about $28, which includes up to 600 messages a month. If you only need it for one situation there’s a weekly plan at R245, about $15, with up to 225 messages a week. Both bill until you cancel and you can cancel any time. You’re charged in South African rand because our payment provider, Paystack, is South African, so your bank converts it and your statement may show a slightly different amount in your own currency.
Are the sessions and methods part of that?
No. The one-on-one sessions and the written methods are separate one-off purchases, bought once and yours to keep. Nothing about them recurs, and a M.A.A.S.K. subscription doesn’t include them.
Is it therapy?
No. It's coaching on relationships and self-mastery, and it's not a substitute for a licensed professional. If you're in crisis, contact local emergency services or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.

What this covers

Masked Methods is run by an individual sole proprietor based in South Africa. This explains what we collect and what happens to it.

What we collect

If you request clearance or create an account: your answers, your age range, your gender, your email address, and your conversations with M.A.A.S.K. That's what lets it remember you between sessions and speak to you properly.

If you use the cycle tracker: the notes and daily entries you write there.

If you buy a session: payment is handled by our payment providers. We never see or store card details.

If you email us: your address and whatever you write.

Why we keep it

To run the service — a personalised advisor that remembers your history — and to handle orders and support. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

Who else touches it

Third parties run parts of the service: payment processors, Beacons for session booking, hosting and database providers, an email provider that sends account emails, and an AI provider that generates responses. Pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when they load. Each handles data under their own terms.

The site also keeps a few things on your own device so it works between visits: whether you're signed in, and a test result until it's saved to your account. Signing out clears them.

How long we keep it

While your account exists. You can delete your account yourself on the Account page, or ask us to. Records of payments are kept as long as the law requires.

Your rights

Under South Africa's POPIA and equivalent laws elsewhere you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email help@mail.maskedmethods.com.

Children

This is for adults. It isn't intended for anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

What you're getting

Masked Methods provides relationship and self-mastery coaching: an AI advisor, digital products, and one-on-one sessions. It is coaching for personal growth. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice, legal advice, or a crisis service, and it doesn't replace a licensed professional.

Crisis

If you're thinking about harming yourself, or anyone's safety is at risk, contact local emergency services or find a helpline at findahelpline.com. Don't rely on this service for that.

Using it decently

Don't use this service to harass, stalk, threaten, coerce, or deceive anyone, and don't use it to harm a minor. Accounts doing that get closed. The theatrical framing on this site is style; the rule is not.

Your decisions are yours

You're an adult and you choose what to do with what you learn here. We give information and perspective; the choices and outcomes belong to you.

Accounts

Keep your login details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Payment

Prices are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.

Fair use

From 13 October 2026, a M.A.A.S.K. subscription includes a fair use allowance: up to 600 messages in each billing month on the monthly plan, and up to 225 messages in each billing week on the weekly plan. That is far more than normal use, and it exists so that one person's usage can't make the service unaffordable for everyone. If you reach it, your file and your conversation stay exactly as they are and your messages start again when your billing period resets; the date is shown to you at the time.

If you subscribed before 13 October 2026, the period you have already paid for isn't limited. The allowance starts at your next renewal.

We may change this allowance in future. If we do, we'll tell subscribers by email before it takes effect, and the change won't apply to a period you have already paid for.

Our content

The methods, writing, and materials here belong to Masked Methods. Use them for yourself — don't republish or resell them.

Limits

The service is provided as-is. We don't guarantee any particular outcome. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us.

Law

Governed by the laws of South Africa. Nothing here removes your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

Refund Policy

Everything sold here is digital — sessions, products, and access. Nothing is physically shipped, so no shipping or delivery fees apply to any order.

All sales are final

Once a session is booked, or a digital product has been delivered or accessed, we don't offer refunds or exchanges — except where the law requires it, below.

Rescheduling

Need to move a booked session? Tell us at least 24 hours before your slot at help@mail.maskedmethods.com or through your Beacons booking.

Subscriptions

Cancel any time and you won't be charged again. Cancelling stops future payments; it doesn't refund the period you're already in.

What the law still gives you

Nothing here limits your rights under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act. If a service is materially different from what was described, defective, or not delivered, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair regardless of the policy above.

If we didn't deliver

If you paid and didn't get what you paid for because of something on our end, contact us and we'll fix it — by delivering it or refunding you.
